Discover the Journey of a Lifetime

Archie Legge is a successful hypnotherapist … and a recovering drug addict.
Stuck in a mundane cycle of sessions for weight loss and smoking cessation, he becomes intrigued by the question: what happens to a person's soul when they temporarily lose consciousness?
His investigations bring startling results, and suddenly Archie is addicted to something else – discovering the truth behind these ethereal adventures.
Desperate for people to take part in his new project, he hypnotises his epileptic son with disastrous consequences. Now he must make a choice: risk his own life by revisiting a dangerous habit to save his son ... or live with the guilt and hope no one discovers his secret.
Fans of Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library and Mitch Albom’s Five People You Meet in Heaven will love this gripping tale of a man torn between his past and his family's future.
Although a qualified Hypnotherapist and Nutritional Therapist, I now spend my time writing. I have had articles published on health and wellbeing in national magazines.
This is my debut novel.
I live in the Surrey Hills with my husband, daughter and two crazy dogs.
I started writing about Archie Legge twenty years ago, pre-children (that's me, not him!). I had the thought, 'I wonder what happens to people's souls when they are rendered temporarily unconscious'. Suffering from epilepsy myself (thankfully controlled by medication) from the age of 19, I liked to imagine that we were special and called upon by angels to do daring missions that necessitated our temporary bout of unconsciousness!
I am also a proud descendent of the Legge family from Broseley, Shropshire - they of the clay pipe factory that is still there and now a museum.

I must pay homage to my wonderful, yet slightly sarcastic, editor (an accomplished novelist in his own right) – the wonderful James Anders Banks who, armed with a huge bag of commas and a bucket full of patience, taught me more about grammar than I ever learnt in school. He honed and shaped this jumble of words into coherent sentences – and managed to throw in the odd bit of praise along the way. Thanks for the laughs JAB - you haven’t seen the last of me (I can hear you groaning, you know!). You can find him at reedsy.com
